A young mother paying a visit to a doctor friend and his wife made no attempt to restrain her five-year-old son, who was ransacking an adjoining room.
But finally, an extra loud clatter of bottles did prompt her to say, "I hope, doctor, you don't mind Johnny being in there."
"No," said the doctor calmly,
"He'll be quiet when he gets to the poisons."
Admit it---we all know a mom like this!

Oh I know! I once had a lady visit me with her 4 children ages 4-11 and it was total chaos.
You know being in the South we rarely say anything to our guests about their children's behavior, HOWEVER, LOL, after they tore the lampshade from my lamp, tore the curtains down, and completely destroyed my living room, I calmly suggested we all go outside. This happened all within 20 minutes of the visit and mom sat there smiling, not saying a word to her children.
The next visit I stopped it before it began and had them sitting and coloring while me and the mom chatted. ;)
